Our mission is to promote the social, emotional, physical, and cognitive development of Early Head Start children, ensuring they are ready for their next educational steps while emphasizing integrated services to support both the child and their families.

Key Responsibilities :

• Commitment : Embrace the vision and mission of Head Start of York County and Community Progress Council, Inc.
• Create a Safe and Engaging Environment : Develop and maintain a clean, safe, and positive classroom that fosters respect, active learning, and cultural responsibility.
• Individualized Learning : Plan and prepare developmentally appropriate learning experiences that stimulate problem-solving, language acquisition, social development, and more.
• Parent and Community Engagement : Encourage and engage parent involvement and program volunteers in all aspects of the program.
• Ongoing Assessment : Develop individual goals for children, provide ongoing assessment of progress, and facilitate transitions to Head Start or other community preschools.
• Mentorship : Mentor and support assistant teachers, guiding them in planning and delivering effective learning experiences.
• Collaboration : Work collaboratively with parents, other teaching staff, and community agencies to meet each child's needs.
