Mid-Level Manufacturing Engineer (Windows & Doors)

Location : Queens, NY (on-site)

Role Summary

We’re looking for a hands-on Manufacturing Engineer (3+ years) to drive throughput, quality, and cost reduction across our window manufacturing lines (vinyl / aluminum). You’ll own process improvement, tooling / fixtures, new equipment integration, and production support—partnering closely with Production, Quality, Maintenance, and Sales to keep jobs moving and customers happy.

Key Responsibilities

• Process Optimization : Map current state, remove bottlenecks, and improve takt / OEE, scrap, and first-pass yield using lean / 5S / Kaizen.
• Equipment & Tooling : Specify and commission machinery (e.g., double-miter saws, 4-head welders, corner cleaners, hardware stations, IGU line); design jigs / fixtures; create preventive maintenance plans with Maintenance. Assist the mechanic with troubleshooting equipment and minimizing downtime.
• Standard Work & Documentation : Build / maintain SOPs, WI’s, control plans, PFMEA; train operators and line leads.
• Quality Engineering : Analyze defects / returns; implement corrective actions aligned to AAMA / NFRC and relevant ASTM performance standards (air / water / structural / thermal).
• New Product Introduction : Industrialize new profiles / assemblies —BOM / routing setup, pilot runs, capability studies, and ramp-to-rate.
• Data & Cost : Track line metrics (OEE, downtime, changeover, scrap); partner with Supply Chain on yield, alternative materials, and vendor qualifications.
• Safety & Compliance : Engineer guards / ergonomics; support OSHA and electrical / mechanical safety on the floor.
