This position is designated as work-from-home.

Responsibilities

• Oversees the SQL Database platform and possesses extensive experience and knowledge in :

Develop and maintain automation scripts using PowerShell, Azure CLI, or other relevant tools to streamline administrative tasks.

Implement and enforce security best practices for Azure databases.

Provision and configure Azure database services, including SQL Database, SQL MI, Azure Database for PostgreSQL, etc.

Implement and manage database backups, disaster recovery, and high availability solutions.

Experience with performance tuning and optimization.

Perform regular security assessments and vulnerability scans.

Microsoft SQL Server (Knowledge of other database platforms preferred)

SQL Server Availability Architecture, Always On Availability Groups, Failover Clusters, Replication, Mirroring, Disaster Recovery

Process improvement, automation, monitoring and programming / scripting languages

Cloud Architecture, Cloud Technologies, Cloud Services, Infrastructure as Code (Azure experience with Terraform preferred)

Resource management and Service level agreements

Maintain comprehensive documentation of database configurations, procedures, and best practices.

Strong communication and teamwork abilities.

24x7 operations

Skills, Qualifications and Certifications

Proven experience as a database administrator, with a focus on Azure cloud databases.

Microsoft Azure certifications (e.g., Microsoft Certified : Azure Database Administrator Associate) are a plus.

Proficiency in scripting and automation tools (e.g., PowerShell, Azure CLI).

Advanced knowledge of networking concepts, object-oriented technology, data warehousing, and relational database engines.

Advanced proficiency in analytical, project planning, negotiating, interpersonal, and communication skills (written and oral).

Citizenship or Work Authorization

US Citizen

Education & Experience

7 years of experience as a Data Architect, and a Bachelor of Arts / Science Degree in Computer Science or related field or an equivalent combination of education and / or experience, Master\'s Degree preferred.

Compensation

Compensation for roles at Synergy varies depending on a wide variety of factors including but not limited to the requirements of the role; education and certifications; knowledge, training, skills and abilities; level of experience; geographic location; and alignment with market data, law, and other business and organizational needs. As required by local law, the posted pay range represents the lowest to the highest pay that Synergy believes in good faith it might pay for this particular job, depending on the circumstances. The disclosed range estimate has not been adjusted for the applicable geographic differential associated with the location at which the position may be filled. It is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case.

A reasonable estimate of the current pay range is : $117,000.00 - $172,000.00.
