SUMMARY / GENERAL DESCRIPTION OF JOB :
The Lands Resource Associate (Apprentice), under the supervision of the Vice President of Lands & Resources, provides general administrative support to the Lands department. The Apprenticeship Program is a work-based learning program that provides on-the-job training alongside experienced staff. The apprentice will support day-to-day operations and assist in other special projects as directed.

Mandatory :
Knowledge Of : administrative procedures, policies and practices, operation of common office machinery including copiers, fax machines, and computers, land surveying principles and practices, financial analysis calculations, GIS system, and knowledge of the Alaska Native Claims Settlement Act (ANCSA) and how it impacts the Chugach Region.
Ability To : maintain confidentiality and high attention to detail, communicate effectively orally and in writing, deal with people in a professional and courteous manner, exercise good judgment and initiative; prioritize projects and complete in accordance with established deadlines; perform duties in a timely, cost-effective manner; work with a team or independently with little or no supervision; provide appropriate follow up; balance multiple tasks; prioritizes projects in spite of constant interruptions, communicate effectively with individuals and groups, maintain office efficiency at all times, maintain a high degree of accuracy for all work, perform duties in a timely and cost-effective manner, maintain confidentiality, deal with a variety of people in a professional and courteous manner in diversified situations, work under pressure, complete work assignments and meet numerous required deadlines, organizational ability, and initiative, multi-task easily, and safely conduct remote field work.
