Commercial Lines Teams Leader
The Commercial Lines Teams Leader is responsible for driving team performance, talent development, and operational excellence across the Commercial Lines department. This role will focus on recruiting, developing, and retaining top talent while fostering a culture of collaboration, accountability, and client-first service. The position oversees Team Leads and supports their growth into effective leaders who can deliver consistent results for clients and the agency.
Key Responsibilities
- Leadership & Talent Development
Recruit, onboard, and retain high-performing employees for Commercial Lines.
Conduct individual assessments to identify strengths, opportunities, and career pathways.Develop and implement personal development plans to support employee growth.Provide ongoing education and training resources to ensure staff success.Mentor and coach Team Leads to strengthen leadership capabilities.Team Oversight & StructureSelect, appoint, and manage Team Leads, ensuring alignment with agency values and goals.
Provide guidance to Team Leads in managing day-to-day operations, client service, and workload distribution.Establish performance expectations and hold Team Leads accountable for results.Foster a collaborative environment across all teams to promote consistency and shared success.Operational ExcellenceEnsure processes and procedures support efficiency, compliance, and high-quality service delivery.
Partner with leadership to align team objectives with agency-wide strategies.Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and implement improvement strategies where needed.Support client retention efforts through team coaching and proactive service strategies.Culture & EngagementPromote an inclusive and supportive team culture built on trust, accountability, and shared goals.
Recognize and celebrate individual and team achievements.Encourage innovation and new ideas for improving client experience and team performance.Strategic ContributionCollaborate with senior leadership on workforce planning, succession planning, and long-term business goals.
Provide feedback and insights from the Commercial Lines teams to influence agency strategy.Act as a role model for professionalism, integrity, and client advocacy.You Should Have :
Insurance Expertise : 7+ years of experience in Commercial Lines insurance, including prior leadership or supervisory experience within an agency or brokerage environment.Leadership & Coaching Skills : Proven ability to lead, mentor, and develop high-performing teams and emerging leaders; strong background in talent development and succession planning.Client-Focused Mindset : Deep understanding of client service excellence in the insurance industry, with a track record of improving client retention and satisfaction.Strategic & Analytical Thinking : Experience aligning departmental objectives with organizational strategy, using data and performance metrics to guide decision-making.Communication & Collaboration : Exceptional interpersonal, communication, and conflict-resolution skills, with the ability to build trust and foster a collaborative, inclusive culture.#LI-JS1
