We are currently seeking a General Manager to lead the team at Genghis Cohen, a true LA classic that has served up authentic New York-style Chinese food for over 40 years. The beloved Fairfax institution and cultural icon has a storied history and recently relocated to a new location that opened with fanfare as seen in extensive media coverage from LA Times, Los Angeles Magazine, Eater LA and much more.

Job Overview:

The General Manager is responsible for facilitating daily operations of the bar/restaurant. He/she will work closely with the culinary and front of house teams and report to Call Mom ownership.

Essential Functions Include:

-Upholds the highest standards of hospitality and service
-Completes FOH inventory and ordering
-Hires, trains and counsels FOH staff
-Completes scheduling and payroll
-Acts as primary ground level point person for special guest requests including but not limited to private onsite events, menu requests etc.
-Supports staff with service whenever and however necessary
-Provides training opportunities that educate and empower the team
-Conducts regular team meetings and administers counseling when necessary
-Ensures a safe and secure working, and dining environment for all team members and guests
-Physically tours and inspects the property on a daily basis, monitoring condition and cleanliness
-Comply with local, state and federal health department and labor standards
-Any other tasks requested by Call Mom leadership

Qualifications:

-High School diploma (bachelor’s degree preferred) and a minimum of 3-5 years of applicable restaurant and/or hospitality management experience
-Servsafe certified
-Experience with Opentable and Toast POS a plus
-Leadership skills to motivate and develop staff and to ensure accomplishment of goals
-Capable of setting priorities, planning, organizing, delegating, and controlling processes
-Flexibility and openness to change course according to the needs of the business
-Excellent communications and interpersonal skills
-Strong management, organizational, and data analysis skills

Salary Range $90-100k, Potential Bonuses, Paid Time Off, Employee Discounts
