We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Biobanking Technician to join our team and support critical biomedical research initiatives. The ideal candidate will have expertise in specimen collection, processing, storage, and data management to maintain the integrity of biological samples for research purposes.

Position Summary :
Under the direction of the Associate Director of Biobanking Logistics & Customer Service, the Biobanking Technician I will be responsible for the following duties :
Becoming proficient in using Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS)
Becoming proficient in using Biobanking Logistics Inventory Tracking System (BLITS)
Completing on-line certifications for the department of transportation and biohazardous waste
Assisting with internal and external order fulfillment, requests or shipments
Preparing kit components
Assisting in filling liquid nitrogen tanks
Assisting in the storage and retrieval of biospecimens from tanks and freezers
Delivering daily work orders to the Production & Research Laboratories
Participating and assisting with equipment preventative maintenance schedules
Participating in on-call rotations for equipment monitoring (valid driver’s license required)
Maintaining a well-organized work environment
Assisting with the tactical operations of all areas of the Biobanking Logistics
Qualifications :
High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate’s degree or higher in a related field (e.g., Biology, Biomedical Sciences, Laboratory Technology) preferred
Prior experience working in a laboratory or biobanking environment strongly preferred
Familiarity with Laboratory Information Management Systems (LIMS) and inventory tracking systems a plus, or willingness to quickly learn
Ability to handle biohazardous materials safely and follow all relevant safety protocols
Strong organizational skills with attention to detail
Ability to lift and move specimen containers and supplies (up to 50 lbs)
Valid driver’s license required for on-call equipment monitoring and transportation duties
Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
Proficiency with basic computer applications (e.g., Microsoft Office)
Excellent communication skills and a customer service-oriented attitude
