Description

  • Conduct comprehensive evaluations of patients spanning pediatric, adult, and geriatric demographics using both standardized tests and observational methods.
  • Formulate individualized treatment strategies addressing both immediate and enduring communication, cognitive, and swallowing objectives.
  • Deliver focused, one-on-one interventions targeting various aspects of speech therapy including articulation, fluency, and swallowing capabilities.
  • Collaborate with an interdisciplinary team including physical therapists, occupational therapists, nursing staff, medical professionals, caregivers, and family members to create integrated care solutions.
  • Facilitate education for patients and families to encourage therapeutic progress beyond your sessions.
  • Perform occasional inpatient evaluations and therapy interventions to ensure continuity in your patients' care journeys.
  • Uphold meticulous and timely documentation that adheres to all regulatory guidelines.
  • Engage in continuing education and professional collaboration to stay updated on the latest advancements in the field.

Education

  • A master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from a recognized institution.
  • Completion of a supervised Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) if not yet ASHA-certified.
  • Certifications

  • State licensure as a Speech Language Pathologist .
  • Preferred : Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) from ASHA.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification to be obtained within 30 days of hire.
  • Skills

  • Expertise in evidence-based practices for all age groups, with profound knowledge of both developmental and acquired speech, language, and swallowing disorders.
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills to effectively communicate with patients, their families, and members of a multidisciplinary team.
  • Ability to tailor therapy techniques to be culturally and linguistically attuned to diverse populations.
  • Strong clinical reasoning and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Proficient in electronic medical record systems and documentation standards.
