Position Summary

The Orthotist is responsible for the assessment, design, fabrication, fitting, and adjustment of orthopedic braces and support devices to assist patients with mobility and musculoskeletal conditions. This role involves collaborating with physicians, physical therapists, and other healthcare professionals to develop patient-centered treatment plans to improve their quality of life.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate patients' needs through consultations, physical examinations, and medical histories.
• Design and fabricate custom orthotic devices to meet patients' specific requirements.
• Fit and adjust orthotic devices to ensure proper alignment, fit, and function.
• Instruct patients on the proper use, care, and maintenance of orthotic devices.
• Collaborate with healthcare professionals, including physicians, physical therapists, and advanced practice providers, to develop comprehensive treatment plans.
• Monitor and assess patients' progress, making necessary adjustments to orthotic devices as needed.
• Assess patients' foot conditions related to diabetes, arthritis, and other medical conditions requiring pedorthic intervention.
• Maintain accurate and detailed patient records and documentation including assessments, treatment plans and follow-up adjustments.
• Stay current with advancements in orthotic technology and best practices
• Maintain compliance with all state and federal regulations related to orthotics and patient care.

• Other responsibilities as needed
