Description :

This is a travel position for a Registered Nurse in the Med Surg / Neuro specialty.

The unit has 38 beds and a staff of approximately 55.

Staffing includes 2 charge nurses without patients on days and 1-2 charge nurses on nights, with an RN ratio of 4-5 : 1, supplemented by 2 Patient Care Technicians (PCTs).

Patient ratios currently allow for 4 : 1 but may run 5 : 1 due to staffing needs.

Equipment in use includes IV pumps, seizure monitoring tools, Bi-PAP, C-PAP (mostly utilized at night), and glucometers.

The electronic medical record system used is Meditech.

Candidates should possess skills in NIH / stroke assessments and neuro assessments.

The role also requires conducting fall risk assessments, trach care, and management of feeding tubes.

Ideal candidates are highly motivated team players.

A passion for the neuro patient population and experience with neuro patients is highly encouraged.

Candidates must be able to multitask and work well within a team.

Strong critical thinking skills, initiative, and the ability to think on one's feet are essential.

A positive, energetic, and flexible approach, along with engagement in patient experience tactics, is highly valued.
