SUMMARY OF POSITION :

Springs Rescue Mission (SRM) mobilizes the community to help neighbors overcome homelessness, poverty, and addiction-restoring lives with faith, hope, and dignity. The Director of Data & Systems is a strategic builder who brings clarity, rhythm, and simplicity to a complex organization. This role designs the frameworks, processes, and culture that ensure SRM's decisions and storytelling are rooted in truth. The person in this role unifies data across departments-Advancement, Finance, Programs, Volunteer Engagement, and Human Resources-so SRM can see, measure, and communicate transformation more clearly. This role is ideal for a clarity-driven architect who loves turning chaos into living systems that serve people. Initial performance indicators include, but are not limited to :
- Complete organization-wide system map and data audit.
- Launch initial Mission Metrics Dashboard with 6-8 key indicators.
- Establish and document SOPs for data entry, governance, and reporting.
- Demonstrate measurable improvements in data accuracy and reporting speed.
- Build staff confidence in data integrity and cross-department communication.
Requirements
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES :
Architect & Integrate Core Systems
Lead the design and alignment of SRM's core data and technology ecosystem to ensure every system contributes to a unified, mission-wide "source of truth."Hold organization-wide authority to evaluate, guide, and approve the selection, integration, or retirement of software platforms used across departments. Departments may propose new software tools, but all system selections must be reviewed by Director of Data & systems to ensure alignment with data governance, interoperability, and security standards.Collaborate with departmental leaders to balance functionality, user experience, and strategic alignment with SRM's Mission Metrics Framework.Own the master system architecture, mapping and integrating all software and tools into a cohesive ecosystem.Review and authorize all new system implementations or significant configuration changes to ensure security, sustainability, and interoperability.Define and maintain the Mission Metrics Framework-clarifying the data flows that measure outcomes across Housing, Health, and Work.Guide and support department heads in optimizing their systems for alignment with SRM's data standards while respecting their operational needs.Ensure vendors, integrations, and infrastructure meet SRM's requirements for reliability, security, and long-term scalability.Data Stewardship & Governance
Establish standards and SOPs for data entry, access, and integrity across all departments.Conduct regular audits to ensure accuracy and compliance.Train and equip staff to become data stewards within their respective areas.Maintain a master data dictionary and KPI definitions to align language across the organization.Insights & Reporting
Create dashboards and reporting tools for executive, board, and departmental use, highlighting both operational and missional outcomes.Partner with Advancement to analyze donor data, campaign ROI, and giving trends.Partner with Programs and Finance to track outcomes that demonstrate transformation and stewardship.Translate complex data into actionable insights and story-ready summaries.Culture of Learning & Continuous Improvement
Promote data literacy across SRM through simple tools, clear communication, and regular coaching.Lead quarterly Mission Metrics Reviews with department heads.Model SRM's cultural anchors- Build and Guard Trust and Make It Better -through transparency, collaboration, and stewardship.Help SRM shift from "data for compliance" to "data for clarity."Partners closely with : CFO, VP of Advancement, and CHROAttends all required meetings and reviews SRM emails regularly.Duties and responsibilities may be added, deleted, or changed at any time at the discretion of management, formally or informally, either verbally or in writing.EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE :
Bachelor's degree preferred.7-10 years leading data, systems, or operational integration in nonprofit, ministry, or SaaS environments.Proven ability to architect systems and processes that unify multiple departments.Strong understanding of data governance, reporting, and analytics (Excel, Power BI, or similar tools).SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS :
