We are looking for a meticulous Legal Assistant to join our team for a contract position in Baltimore, Maryland. In this role, you will provide crucial support within the Trusts and Estates division, assisting a Partner with various legal processes and administrative tasks. This opportunity is ideal for someone with a strong background in trusts and estates and excellent technical skills.
Responsibilities :
- Prepare and submit e-filings and court documents accurately and on time.
- Conduct legal research to support trusts and estates cases.
- Manage calendars and schedules to ensure smooth coordination of appointments and deadlines.
- Assist with civil litigation tasks, including drafting and filing necessary documents.
- Handle administrative duties to support the Partner in the Trusts and Estates division.
- Maintain organized records and files related to casework.
- Communicate effectively with clients and other legal professionals.
- Ensure compliance with legal procedures and deadlines.
- Utilize technical tools and software efficiently for legal documentation and filing.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in a legal assistant role, preferably within trusts and estates.
- Proficiency in e-filing and court filing processes.
- Strong understanding of civil litigation procedures.
- Excellent organizational and calendar management skills.
- Ability to conduct legal research effectively.
- Familiarity with trusts and estates legal practices and terminology.
- Strong technical skills, including the use of legal software.
- Exceptional attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines.
