About the Role
We are seeking an experienced, agile, and mission-driven attorney to join our legal team as Senior Legal Counsel. Reporting directly to the General Counsel, this role will provide strategic and day-to-day legal support across the organization, including product development, regulatory compliance, operations, data privacy, and employment matters. You’ll be a key legal advisor embedded across functions, helping us navigate the complex regulatory landscape of in-home healthcare and tele-health while enabling innovation, scale, and impact. This role will work across the company, but at the start will focus on commercial contracting, regulatory compliance, HR, and privacy matters.
Responsibilities
- Owning the legal review of a range of contracts including technology agreements, service agreements, clinical partnerships, and data sharing arrangements
- Providing legal support on MSA / SOWs, BAAs, SLAs, and product integrations — thinking strategically about how a deal fits into the business, and being tactical on the terms of a specific deal
- Supporting procurement and vendor management with appropriate diligence and risk mitigation
- Supporting our Managed Care-related operations, including HEDIS Gap Closure and other preventive-care services
- Advising on telehealth and digital health regulations, including provider licensure, reimbursement, and evolving federal / state guidance
- Providing legal guidance on compliance with federal and state healthcare laws, including HIPAA, HITECH, CMS regulations, Anti-Kickback Statute (AKS), Stark Law, CPOM, and related frameworks
- Working with compliance on monitoring and oversight activities, providing legal guidance on policy drafting and audit processes
- Drafting and maintaining privacy policies, terms of use, and data governance procedures
- Advising on federal and state privacy issues applicable to product design, operations, and customer communications
- Becoming a subject matter expert on participation in Health Information Exchanges, TEFCA, and other efforts to boost the sharing of health data
- Providing guidance to the HR organization on employment law issues, including classification, leave, reasonable accommodation, wage and hour, and hiring practices
- Supporting HR in drafting employment policies, and conducting investigations and training
- Building trusted partnerships with leadership across business development, clinical, operations, HR, and external stakeholders
- Helping build and scale internal legal processes, contract templates, and playbooks
- Coordinating with outside counsel where appropriate
- Supporting development and commercialization of digital health tools and data products
Qualifications
JD from an accredited law school and membership in good standing in at least one U.S. jurisdiction5+ years of legal experience, with at least 2+ years in-house in a startup environmentDeep familiarity with healthcare regulatory law, privacy / data protection, and employment lawExperience working cross-functionally in a product-centric, digital health, or technology-forward organizationAbility to independently manage complex matters, prioritize deadlines, and deliver clear, actionable adviceExcellent drafting, negotiation, and strategic counseling skillsNice to Have
Prior experience in a practice group focusing on healthcare regulatory, employment, and / or privacy mattersBackground working with payers, providers, or health-tech vendorsFamiliarity with IP, open source, or clinical research agreementsExperience managing or mentoring junior attorneys or legal staffWhat we Offer

The base salary range for this full-time position is $170,000 - $200,000 + benefits. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries for the position across all US locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
