Certified Outpatient Medical Coder

A company is looking for an Outpatient Medical Coder 2.

Key Responsibilities

Assign diagnosis and procedural codes to outpatient medical records for reimbursement and data collection

Utilize coding software to select appropriate codes based on electronic medical records

Maintain productivity and quality standards while addressing edits or denials during the coding process

Required Qualifications

Completion of a CAHIIM-approved coding certificate program or HIMT program

Demonstrated coding proficiency through a coding test

Minimum of 1-year outpatient coding experience (ICD10-CM and CPT)

Credentialed as RHIT, RHIA, CCS, or COC by relevant professional organizations

Commitment to ongoing education as required by professional coding associations
