About The Position

Crisis Therapist Profession : Social Worker Specialty : Outpatient Duration : Grant-based Shift : 8 : 30 AM - 5 : 00 PM Hours per Shift : 8 Experience : Minimum years vary based on licensing License : Master's degree in Social Work, Psychology, or Counseling with corresponding State licensure required Certifications : Must obtain Qualified Mental Health Professional and Substance Abuse Treatment Specialist credentials within 120 days. Must possess CAADC credential or be on an active registered certification Development Plan within six weeks of hire. Must submit application for Development Plan within 30 days of hire. Description : As a Crisis Therapist, you will be responsible for providing screening, assessment, and crisis intervention services via telehealth to adults in the community. You will determine the appropriate level of care and the least restrictive setting in which those services can be provided. You will provide transitional support, advocacy, and care coordination services in-person or via telehealth until clients resume ongoing mental health or substance use treatment services. You are required to be available via pre-programmed tablets for calls referred by local police departments. Crisis screening services are available 24 hours each day, including holidays and weekends. You must be available to respond immediately to crisis calls during scheduled on-call hours, sharing on-call responsibilities with other team members. You will assist with after-hours on-call coverage on a voluntary basis. You will provide crisis intervention and ongoing mental health treatment services to clients receiving intensive case management, including those mandated for treatment. Services are delivered in-person or via telehealth. Regular working hours are Monday through Thursday 8 : 30 AM to 7 : 00 PM, Friday 8 : 30 AM to 5 : 00 PM, and Saturday 9 : 00 AM to 1 : 00 PM. Flexible scheduling is available, with some evening or weekend hours required based on program needs. You will be responsible for maintaining a nonjudgmental approach, demonstrating cultural competency and sensitivity to the unique needs and experiences of clients. You must have the ability to engage with clients diagnosed with serious mental illness and / or substance use disorders, their families, and supporters. You should be proficient in helping clients identify their service needs and preferences while navigating community resources. You are expected to provide trauma-informed care and handle crisis situations appropriately. Competency in using technology is essential, along with effective organizational and communication skills. Candidates must be able to work independently and demonstrate a nonjudgmental approach reflecting cultural sensitivity.
