Description :
The RN Clinical Nurse is a proactive member of an interdisciplinary team of licensed and unlicensed caregivers.
They ensure that patients and families receive individualized high quality, safe patient care.
The RN practices in a clinical environment administered by Nurse Managers and supported through a shared governance model.
The framework for practice is guided by a professional practice model and evidence-based practice.
RN competencies are derived from these models and supported by organizational values.
All RN Clinical Nurses are expected to be licensed, knowledgeable, and uphold practice standards as outlined by the state's Professional Nurse Practice Act.
They implement the Scope of Practice and Code of Ethics Standards put forth by the American Nurses Association.
As a member of the patient services team, the RN upholds the voice of the patient and supports service excellence goals.

They provide relationship-based, patient-centered care consistent with population-specific characteristics.
The RN partners with patients and significant others, adapting communication methods to improve care delivery.
They always practice using current clinical practice standards.
Teamwork and Collaboration
The RN coordinates the delivery and documentation of safe quality patient care.
They promote diverse and inclusive interdisciplinary communication methods and timely documentation.
The RN demonstrates teamwork and collaboration by promoting the recruitment and retention of all healthcare team members.
They actively support performance improvement initiatives and shared governance.
Professional Development and Initiative
The RN completes all initial and ongoing professional competency assessments and required education.
They serve as a preceptor and mentor for other professional nurses and students to ensure a qualified workforce and a healthy work environment.
