Job descriptionPh.D. in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related engineering discipline with a strong focus on AI / Machine Learning. Extensive research experience in Generative AI, Agentic AI, and AI Safety and Alignment. Hands-on research experience with Foundational Models (LLMs, VLMs, and other large-scale AI architectures), including fine-tuning, evaluation, and application to domain-specific tasks. Proficient programming skills in Python and common libraries (e.g., TensorFlow, PyTorch). A strong ability to conduct general research activities, including defining problems, finding and using research data, and presenting findings effectively. Short-Term Disability : Rest easy knowing you're protected with 100% employer-paid short-term disability (MetLife), providing 60% of your covered weekly earnings, up to $1,500 per week for a maximum of 13 weeks. Long-Term Disability : For long-term peace of mind, we offer 100% employer-paid long-term disability, covering 60% of your covered monthly earnings, up to $6,000 per month. Benefits begin after a 90-day elimination period. 401K Plan : Plan for your future with our 401K plan, administered by ADP. eShocan offers a dollar-for-dollar match on the first 3% of your base salary per pay period, with immediate eligibility for contributions. Note : A 3-year vesting period applies to employer contributions. Paid Time Off (PTO) : Your work-life balance matters! You'll accrue 10 days (80 hours) of PTO annually, starting from your first day. Accrue 3.076 hours per pay period, with usage available after your first month. Unused hours can carry over year-to-year (80-hour annual usage cap applies). What You'll Do :
As a Research Scientist, you will be at the forefront of innovation, leading applied research in Agentic AI and its application to mobility services. Your work will directly shape the future of intelligent systems, ensuring they are not only powerful but also safe and reliable.
Key Responsibilities :
- Develop innovative solutions that advance AI / ML systems specifically for mobility services.
- Conduct applied research in Agentic AI, focusing on agent design, orchestration strategies, tool integration, and communication protocols.
- Drive research on critical AI safety and alignment topics to ensure the ethical and reliable deployment of our systems.
- Identify research gaps and propose novel solutions to enhance the performance, reliability, and adaptability of agent-based systems.
- Prototype frameworks and algorithms in Python, leveraging tools such as AutoGen, LangChain, or developing custom orchestration layers.
- Engage in a full range of research activities, from defining problems to making clear, impactful recommendations in writing and presentations.
