A Hospice / Palliative Medicine Physician provides essential care for patients with terminal conditions, focusing on symptom management and quality of life. This role involves conducting home visits, participating in interdisciplinary team meetings, and ensuring hospice eligibility for patients. The physician is responsible for guiding and supporting field nurses while maintaining a call schedule for after-hours patient needs.

Coverage Needed

ASAP - ongoing

Schedule

Monday-Friday, 8 : 00am-4 : 30pm

Call Schedule : Call is on average 1 weeknight per week from 4pm - 8am and 1 in 4 / 5 weekends from 4pm on Friday until 8am on Monday

Clinical Details

Practice Setting : Hospice Home Care

Majority of the hospice physician's time is spent in interdisciplinary team meetings, reviewing cases for hospice eligibility, and providing guidance and recommendations to the nurses in the field

Home visits for face to face encounters and symptom management are scheduled as needed in accordance with the hospice physician's schedule on average 0-2 per day

Requirements

Board Certified - Internal Medicine / Family Medicine / Emergency Medicine

Hospice and Palliative Medicine or Geriatrics fellowship training - Preferred

No Flights, will consider local lodging

BLS

Provider must be local
