Monday-Friday 2 : 30pm to 11 : 00pm
- Maintains, repairs, installs, and troubleshoots equipment.
- Installing, maintaining and repairing plumbing systems and fixtures, such as toilets, faucets, drains, pipes, valves, pumps, etc.
- Reading and interpreting blueprints and drawings to plan and execute plumbing installations and layouts.
- Testing and repairing backflow prevention devices and boilers.
- Leading troubleshooting and emergency repairs on steam, water, and gas distribution systems.
- Coordinating with management and other trades to assign and track tasks.
- As part of a larger team, participate in the on-call rotation and provide coverage / support to other facility teams.
- Support University events.
- Maintain Safety Data Sheet (SDS) recording hazardous materials.
- Other duties as assigned.
Requirements :
- High school diploma / GED and at least 3 years' experience in the plumbing trade with at least one year of full-time experience as a licensed journeyman
- Must possess and maintain a Massachusetts Journeymen's 's License
- Must possess and maintain a valid Massachusetts Driver's License. Ability to drive a truck or other light vehicle in the course of duties.
- Must have direct, relevant experience in the maintenance and repair of building components, fixtures, and systems, and demonstrate proficiency in the skills required for the position.
- Must be able to use all the common hand and power tools of the profession.
- Ability to read, interpret and understand technical language in specifications, schematics, blueprints, and construction documents.
- Ability to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with staff, managers, coworkers, students, residents, guests, and contractors.
- Ability to work independently and as a team member.
- Ability to stand, crawl, walk and stoop; push, pull and lift & lower objects weighing up to 50lbs from floor to waist high and rotate upper torso.
Ability to lift material and parts, up to 50 pounds, from shoulder to above head while standing on a ladder. Ability to work in dirty and noisy conditions, in wet or humid weather, and in fluctuating and / or extreme temperatures.
- Working knowledge and ability to use 2-way radio and possess computer literacy.
- Maintains a positive working relationship with others, both internally and externally, to achieve the goals of the organization.
- This position is considered essential personnel and must have the ability to work overtime, weekends and various work shifts, including on-call / emergency response.
