Ability to float within scope to meet facility needs.

Weekend coverage of 8 shifts in a 6-week schedule period.

Description :

The position is for a Registered Nurse in the Oncology specialty.

This role involves working in a primary oncology unit treating various types of cancer in all phases of care, from work-up to completion of therapy.

Responsibilities include the administration of inpatient chemotherapy regimens and providing post-operative care for uro-gyn and gyn-onc surgical populations.

The nurse will also care for patients in a step-down neuro overflow unit for strokes and other neurological needs.

Key skills required include IV therapy and infusion management, central line care, and symptom management for various oncological emergencies.

The candidate must be proficient in managing complications such as sepsis, tumor lysis syndrome, and providing psychosocial support to patients and families.

Professional knowledge of pain management, wound care, telemetry, and advanced directives is essential.

The environment supports interdisciplinary teams including physical therapy, social services, and pharmacy.

The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong clinical judgment, compassion, and commitment to patient-centered care.

Experience with specific cancer types, chemotherapy protocols, and advanced treatment options is advantageous.

Candidates must have a strong understanding of managing side effects related to chemotherapy and biotherapy.

Position may require floating to intermediate areas and taking charge nurse assignments as needed.
