Talascend is seeking qualified applicants for the position of Senior Accountant for a contract opportunity in Franklin, TN : Job Description : The Senior Accountant prepares journal entries, performs reconciliations, and performs account analysis.
Audits various records to verify accuracy. Instructs or assigns work to clerks and staff engaged in general accounting activities. Responsibilities :
- Provides value added customer service by corresponding directly with Vendors and Customers on open items and account discrepancies identified by the Company or the Vendor / Customer.
- Quickly identifies Vendor / Customer issues and researches to resolve the open item.
- Provides monthly information to Government Agencies (i.e., state, provinces, territories) specific to abandoned assets (i.
e., checks), Unclaimed Property Reporting, and Escheat Funds.)
- Prepares monthly account reconciliations on identified accounts.
- Prepares and reviews periodic financial reports for management, government authorities, and tax authorities.
- Actively involved in the month-end, quarter-end, and year-end accounting close processes.
- Regularly reviews processes, anticipates needs of the department and looks for areas for improvement; makes recommendations and can implement solutions.

Education / skill requirements :
- Bachelors Degree with 5-8 years of experience.
