Role Description :

Overview : We are seeking a dedicated and proactive Data Center Technician to join our team. This role primarily involves troubleshooting downed servers and collaborating with vendors for support cases on systems under warranty. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background, excellent problem-solving skills, and the ability to quickly resolve critical issues while maintaining a high level of communication with vendors and internal teams.Key Responsibilities :

  • Server Troubleshooting : o Respond promptly to server outages and issues within the data center.o Perform diagnostics on down servers, identify root causes, and work quickly to restore functionality.o Utilize remote management tools and hardware diagnostic systems to troubleshoot hardware failures.
  • Vendor Support Case Management : o Open and manage support cases with vendors for systems under warranty.o Coordinate with vendors for timely resolution, track case progress, and follow up to ensure issues are resolved efficiently.o Maintain a knowledge base of vendor-specific troubleshooting procedures and warranty policies.
  • Hardware Repair and Replacement : o Perform hardware replacements and repairs as needed, including but not limited to server components, CPUs, hard drives, memory modules, and power supplies.o Work with vendors to ensure replacement parts are received and installed correctly.
  • Documentation and Reporting : o Accurately document troubleshooting steps, resolutions, and vendor case details in ticketing systems.o Generate reports on system outages, hardware replacements, and overall performance trends.
  • Collaboration and Escalation : o Work closely with internal IT teams to escalate unresolved issues or complex technical problems.o Collaborate with other technicians and engineers to maintain high system availability and performance.Qualifications :
  • Technical Skills : o Strong knowledge of server hardware and components, including troubleshooting techniques for processors, memory, storage, and networking.o Proficiency of Linux OS command-lineo Experience with data center management and remote server monitoring tools.o Familiarity with system diagnostics and management software (e.g., Dell OpenManage, HP iLO, Lenovo XClarity).o Hands-on experience in hardware repair and part replacement in enterprise server environments.
  • Experience : o 2+ years of experience in a data center, server support, or IT infrastructure role.o Prior experience managing vendor support cases and working with hardware vendors.
  • Communication Skills : o Strong written and verbal communication skills.o Ability to effectively communicate technical issues to non-technical stakeholders and vendors.
  • Problem Solving : o Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.o Ability to work independently and as part of a team to resolve issues quickly.Physical Requirements : o Ability to lift and move heavy equipment (up to 50 lbs).o Ability to work in a data center environment with
