Position Summary
The Electrical Operations Manager oversees the daily operations of our electrical manufacturing facility, ensuring safe, efficient, and high-quality production. This leader will manage cross-functional teams across assembly, testing, production planning, and materials management to meet customer demand, maintain compliance with engineering and quality standards, and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
Operational Leadership
- Lead day-to-day operations of the electrical assembly, fabrication, and testing areas, ensuring adherence to project timelines and budgets.
- Oversee production scheduling, resource allocation, and capacity planning to meet customer and business goals.
- Drive accountability for safety, quality, delivery, and cost performance metrics.
Team Management & Development
Lead and mentor a team of supervisors, technicians, and production staff to foster a culture of collaboration, ownership, and continuous learning.Partner with HR to recruit, train, and develop high-performing teams aligned with organizational goals.Process & Continuous Improvement
Implement Lean, Six Sigma, and 5S principles to enhance efficiency, reduce waste, and improve throughput.Collaborate with engineering to streamline product design for manufacturability and cost efficiency.Develop and maintain standard operating procedures (SOPs) and leader standard work (LSW).Quality & Compliance
Ensure all products meet company quality and safety standards as well as applicable industry regulations.Partner with Quality and Engineering teams to resolve technical issues, identify root causes, and drive corrective actions.Maintain compliance with OSHA, NFPA 70E, and other regulatory requirements.Cross-Functional Collaboration
Collaborate closely with Supply Chain, Engineering, and Project Management teams to ensure smooth order execution.Participate in strategic planning and budgeting to align operational capacity with growth objectives.Support new product introductions and custom-engineered solutions.Qualifications
Education & Experience :
Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related technical field required; Master’s degree preferred.8+ years of progressive experience in electrical manufacturing, with at least 3 years in a leadership or operations management role.Strong background in electrical systems, power distribution, or related manufacturing operations.Skills & Competencies :
Deep understanding of electrical systems, schematics, and manufacturing processes.Proven experience leading teams in a fast-paced, engineered-to-order or continuous production environment.Proficiency in Lean Manufacturing, ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle), and production metrics management.Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
