Surgical Tech

Position Summary

Facilitates the safe and efficient performance of surgical procedures. Reports to the Director of Surgery / OR.

Essential Functions

Additional Information

Patient Populations Served : Neonate Infant Early Childhood Late Childhood Adolescent Young Adult Middle Adult Older Adult.

Protected Health Information Accessed : Demographic Clinical Insurance Financial Complete Medical Record.

Exposure : Occupational exposure to bloodborne pathogens is present.

Physical Requirements : Frequent standing walking lifting / moving patients and repetitive hand / arm movements. Regular exposure to biological and chemical hazards including blood and bodily fluids hazardous medications and latex.

Knowledge Skills & Abilities

The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge skills and / or abilities required.

Education : High School Diploma or equivalent preferred; Graduate of a surgical technology program preferred.

Experience : Minimum of 6 months prior experience in another facility.

License / Certifications : Certification from clinicals completed required; BCLS preferred.
