Rush University Children's Hospital , located in downtown Chicago, is seeking a Pediatric Neurologis t with expertise in pediatric epilepsy to join its growing team in the Division of Pediatric Neurology. Rush is proud to have strong programs in Epilepsy, Neurogenetics and Neuromuscular Diseases. Multiple funded research projects are ongoing in the Division with focuses on muscular dystrophy, Fragile X disease, Rett syndrome, Neimann-Pick and other neurogenetic areas.

The successful candidate will have an interest in epilepsy surgery. Qualifications include an MD, MD / PhD, or equivalent; BC / BE in Epilepsy or Neurophysiology; have completed additional fellowship training in pediatric neurophysiology / epilepsy; hold / eligible for medical licensure in Illinois. Candidates will be eligible for a faculty appointment as assistant professor or level commensurate with their experience and accomplishments.

The ideal candidate will become actively involved in the teaching program for medical students, Pediatric residents, and Neurology residents at Rush. Clinical responsibilities may include inpatient and outpatient care at main campus and regional sites. Specific activities may involve intraoperative neurophysiologic monitoring, mapping of cortical function, bedside long term EEG monitoring, routine EEG and video EEG monitoring, as well as general neurology inpatient rounding.

The Rush University Children's Hospital (RUCH) is part of the Rush University Medical Center (RUMC). It is an academic medical center that has 110 pediatric beds. The RUMC is a 671-bed hospital serving adults and children in downtown Chicago, Illinois. It includes the 58- adult bed Johnston R. Bowman Health Center, Rush University and Rush Health. Rush University is home to one of the first medical colleges in the Midwest and one of the nation's top-ranked nursing colleges, as well as graduate programs in allied health, health systems management and biomedical research. The Medical Center also offers more than 70 highly selective residency and fellowship programs in medical and surgical specialties and subspecialties. It has excellent residents. The Categorical Pediatrics and Medicine / Pediatrics residency programs have had a 99% pass rate on the General Pediatrics Certifying Examination offered by the American Board of Pediatrics in the past 4 years.

Rush offers competitive total compensation that includes base pay, benefits, and other incentive programs for our employees. The total pay range shown reflects the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including, but not limited to, knowledge and skills; relevant experience and training; education, certifications, and licensure; primary work location; and other business and organizational factors. This total pay range is for a full-time, 1.0 FTE employee, and includes any incentive payments that may be applicable to this role. Opportunities for increased compensation based on exceeding productivity targets. Additional compensation may include sign-on and retention bonuses and relocation allowances. We also offer a comprehensive benefits package.

Pay Range : $224,000 - $310,000
