- Additional Job Details : Job location is 224 Western Ave, Boston, MA 02134 NOT 114 Mt Auburn Job Responsibilities : Reporting to the Harvard Ed Portal Assistant Director of Socially Engaged Learning, the Mentoring Coordinator works independently with minimal supervision to coordinate the Mentoring Program and youth programming at the Ed Portal. The Mentoring Coordinator's primary responsibilities include : Overseeing and supporting students as they engage in learning through the Mentoring program by, for example, assisting with technology use and troubleshooting. Organizing logistics for the mentoring program and youth programing events, including : mentor-mentee matching, schedule management, room / space reservations, supply procurement, communication with program participants, coordination with program participants and internal and external constituents, A / V support, and food ordering. Supervising and guiding undergraduate mentors during mentoring sessions. Implementing administrative systems / procedures to support programs. Providing plant, garden and invertebrate animal care. Overseeing systems for collecting and maintaining program and scholarship applications, event registrations, program databases, and event / program attendance. Managing data related to program / event participation including gathering information from multiple sources to prepare schedule and ad hoc reports that identify trends. Preparing and maintaining programs records to ensure compliance with University requirements and / or government regulations. Oversee a safe and risk-free atmosphere for children, staff and community members. Scheduled responsibility for supporting general Ed Portal operations; including supporting set up and clean-up of programs, answering phones, and managing the front desk.
