The OS Performance team at Apple is seeking an exceptional Systems Engineer to drive performance excellence across Apple's software and hardware ecosystem. This role involves working across the full software stackfrom high-level applications and frameworks to low-level kernel componentsensuring that Apple delivers world-class performance on supported products. The position presents diverse challenges spanning from optimizing performance on currently supported hardware to unleashing the full potential of cutting-edge next-generation products. As a Systems Engineer on this team, you will have the opportunity to make a direct impact on the user experience for millions of customers worldwide by ensuring every device, regardless of generation, delivers the smooth, responsive experience Apple customers expect.

Responsibilities

• Review performance metric trends
• Investigate logs / traces to identify bottlenecks and potential focus areas
• Work with engineering teams to come up with solutions
• Prototype fixes in various codebases showcasing performance improvements

At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $147,400 and $272,100, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location. Apple employees also have the opportunity to become an Apple shareholder through participation in Apple's discretionary employee stock programs.
