Aircraft Support Technician

Position Summary The Aircraft Support Technician will be responsible for executing the interiors maintenance program. Duties will include identifying, repairing and replacing components primarily pertaining to the interiors of the aircraft. The position will be covering a 24‑hour operation with a primary responsibility to work the overnight shift. Position will work directly with Qualified Personnel to modify and repair cabin interiors. Essential Responsibilities Perform general visual inspections of cabin interiors, galleys and lavatories. Remove, replace, and adjust cabin seating (Flight Attendant, Mint, and Core class), including cushions, harnesses, tray tables, cabin trim and carpeting. Remove, replace, inspect and test cabin systems such as handsets, lavatory components, galley equipment, and lighting to ensure proper functionality. Complete required paperwork accurately using procedures set forth in the General Maintenance Manual (GMM). Complete all work in accordance with JetBlue approved manuals. Other duties as assigned. Minimum Experience and Qualifications High School Diploma or General Education Development (GED) Diploma. One (1) year related work experience. Basic mechanical aptitude and tool familiarity. Ability to work primarily overnight shift. Ability to communicate effectively; in both oral and written communication. Ability to frequently crawl, bend, kneel, climb, stoop and work in confined spaces. Ability to work under pressure in a team environment. Possess and maintain a valid Driver License and a driving record from the state of your primary residence that meets JetBlue’s insurance standards. Ability to remain alert to moving vehicles, aircraft and situational awareness. Must be able to acquire and maintain a valid Security Identification Display Area (SIDA) Badge. Depending on location, may need to acquire and maintain a United States Customs Clearance. Available for overnight travel (10%). Must pass a pre‑employment drug test. Must be legally eligible to work in the country in which the position is located; authorization to work in the US is required. This position is not eligible for visa sponsorship. Preferred Experience and Qualifications Basic understanding of mechanical, electrical, hydraulic and pneumatic disciplines as they apply to aircraft systems. Ability to drive tugs, trucks, taxi aircraft, lift trucks, snorkel lift, boom lift and tractor and/or other maintenance vehicles. Airframe and/or Powerplant License. Prior Aircraft maintenance experience. Crewmember Expectations Regular attendance and punctuality. Potential need to work flexible hours and be available to respond on short‑notice. Ability to maintain a professional appearance. When working or traveling on JetBlue flights, and if time permits, all capable crewmembers are asked to assist with light cleaning of the aircraft. Uphold JetBlue’s safety performance metric goals and understand how they relate to their duties and responsibilities. Equipment Computer and other office equipment. Operate lift trucks, snorkel lift, boom lift and tractor after attending training. Issued reflective safety vest, ear protection and other Personal Protective Equipment (PPE). Ability to use handheld two‑way radios, headsets and/or phone. Work Environment Airport/Hangar environment. Work may be outdoors with seasonal weather. Work may be in elevated areas and confined spaces. Physical Effort Moderate physical activity required by handling objects up to 50 pounds occasionally and or up to 20 pounds frequently. Compensation The base pay for this position starts at $28.00 per hour.
