Manager Overview :
We are seeking a friendly, responsible and experienced cafe Manager to join our team and oversee the daily operations of our establishment. The ideal candidate will have a passion for exceptional customer service, a strong background in the food and beverage industry (coffee knowledge is a plus!), and the ability to lead a team effectively. We are looking for individuals who are driven and self motivated with a willingness to work in a team environment and maintain constant productive communication.

This is a full-time salaried position at the bakery / café on Main Street, Redwood City, CA.
You will report directly to and work with Brian and Jenna, owners and managers, to manage the quality of both the space and the product we are providing to our customers. As well as managing our front of house team which includes scheduling and training.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS / RESPONSIBILITIES :
At least 2 years of experience in the food and beverage industry, with previous managerial experience preferredExcellent interpersonal and communication skills, with a friendly and approachable demeanorA passion for hospitality and a genuine desire to create memorable experiences for customersStrong leadership abilities, with the ability to motivate and inspire a team to deliver outstanding resultsProficiency in inventory management and basic accounting principles including overseeing ordering and procurement of supplies, managing vendor relationships to ensure timely delivery and cost-effective purchasingKnowledge of health and safety regulations, with a commitment to upholding standards of cleanliness and sanitationFlexible schedule, including availability to work weekends and holidays as neededManage day-to-day operations of the cafe, including opening and closing procedures, staff scheduling, and inventory managementEnsure that cleanliness and maintenance of the restaurant are maintainedTrain, mentor, and supervise cafe staff, providing guidance and support to promote teamwork and professional growthEnsure high standards of customer service are consistently maintained, fostering a welcoming and enjoyable experience for every guestCollaborate with the ownership team to develop and execute marketing initiatives, utilizing social media and other channels to promote the cafe and engage with the local communityADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES :
Act with integrity and honesty to promote the culture, values and mission of The Baker Next Door, i.e., create kick-ass products and treat customers and fellow team members with the highest degree of respect and consideration.Ability to troubleshoot day-to-day issues with customers and FOH associatesAbility to oversee, assign, and communicate to FOH associates their mandatory 10 and 30-minute breaksAbility to lead pre-shift meetings making sure that FOH associates are properly informed of new information, specials, and menu itemsAbility to float during your shift and delegate FOH associates in completing impactful tasks throughout the shift, including fulfilling their assigned rolesAbility to stand working for long periods of time, up to 8 hrsAbility to lift / push / manipulate items weighing a minimum of 50 pounds on a regular basisPAY AND BENEFITS
