• Beds : 260-280; Daily census 250-260
• Will you accept a traveler with 1-year experience? 2 years minimum
• Will you accept a first-time traveler? Upon manager review with strong experience
• Patient Types :
• Highly Progressive / Acute Respiratory Care - Adult Critical Care, Pediatric Critical Care, Neonatal Critical Care, and general inpatient respiratory care
• Must be prepared to care for NICU patients if the requisition calls for that - NRP cert required
• Busy, fast-paced department
• Required Certifications :
• Registered Respiratory Therapist - RRT required
• CRT will not be considered
• South Dakota RCP License (SDBMOE.gov) - prior to submittal - takes 30 days
• BLS, ACLS
• Required Education :
• AA Degree
• Skills required :
• Critical Care, General respiratory care experience
• Support on the Unit :
• Charge RT / Respiratory Clinical Specialist 24 / 7
• Supervisors, Manager, Director
• Charting System :
• EPIC (required)
• Omnicell
• Equipment :
• Ventilators : Draeger V500 and Savina 300, 3100A Oscillator, Servo-I MRI, Hamilton C1
• ResMed APAP, CPAP, Bi-level
• Airvo2 High flow devices, Cough Assist, Incourage vest, ABL90 Blood gas machines, IPV, Praxair iNO
• Floating : If yes, where?
• RT Coverage throughout hospital and ED
• Will not float to other facilities, unless hired for that specifically
• Orientation : (facility and unit)
• Rapid City Hospital, Respiratory Care Department
• Scheduling :
• Weekend rotation : Every other
