Position Summary :
The Logistics Coordinator plays a key role in ensuring timely and efficient transportation service to support business operations and customer needs. This role manages daily logistics activities including shipment scheduling, carrier coordination, tracking, and issue resolution. The Logistics Coordinator partners closely with distribution centers, suppliers, carriers, and customers to maintain smooth transportation flow and exceptional service levels. This role combines elements of operations execution, relationship management, and analytical decision-making to support organizational goals and customer satisfaction.
Essential Job Functions :
Champion Lozier's Mission, Vision, and Core Values by demonstrating the behaviors that contribute to Lozier's success.Coordinates all aspects of transportation and logistics, including carrier selection, load planning, scheduling, and associated documentation.Builds and maintains strong carrier partnerships to ensure reliable and cost-effective transportation solutions.Monitors shipments, proactively identifies potential issues, and implements effective resolutions to maintain service standards.Serves as a key contact for internal partners and external carriers, providing timely and professional communication.Collaborates cross functionally to align transportation activities with customer requirements, service expectations, and performance goals.Utilizes transportation data, analytics, and market insights to support informed decision-making.Conducts periodic carrier reviews and identifies opportunities to improve service quality, cost performance, and collaboration.Maintains consistent communication with customers, carriers, and internal stakeholders to ensure expectations are met.Demonstrate regular attendance and timeliness in reporting to work, meetings, and completing assignments.Ability to work and interact well with others.Other Job Functions :
Supports process improvement initiatives and drives efficiency through effective use of the Transportation Management System (TMS) and related technology platforms.Manages shipment documentation, tracking, and recordkeeping with a high level of accuracy and organization.Collaborates with cross-functional teams to resolve shipment discrepancies and streamline logistics workflows.Monitors freight market conditions and seasonal trends to anticipate transportation needs and cost impacts.Provides training and support to peers in the use of logistics systems and tools.Job Qualifications :
Education : Bachelor degree in business, logistics, supply chain, or another related field is preferred.
Experience : Minimum of 4 years of experience in logistics or transportation field, if degreed. Minimum of 8 years of experience in logistics or transportation field, if non-degreed. Minimum of 2 years of progressive responsibility in logistics coordination, customer service, and carrier / vendor management.
Required Skills :
Proficient PC skills (Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook).Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively across all levels of the organization.Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.Demonstrated integrity, reliability, and a strong work ethic.Strong organizational and problem-solving skills, with the ability to think critically and act decisively.Proven ability to build and maintain effective working relationships with internal and external partners.Hands-on experience with Transportation Management Systems (TMS).Preferred Skills :
Experience working with Oracle ERP systems and transportation management software.Prior experience in a manufacturing or distribution environment.Special Demands :
