Job Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Pulmonary / GI PCU night shift position requiring Epic experience and strong PCU / IMC / stepdown skills.
Responsibilities
Position is in a hospital Progressive Care Unit (PCU) with primary Pulmonary / GI patient populationServes adults and geriatric patients in a fast-paced, high-acuity setting with a daily census of 27Patient ratios are 1 : 5Night shifts, working three 12-hour shifts from 6 : 45pm to 7 : 15am, with 4x12s available upon requestEpic EMR experience is requiredMay be scheduled for every other weekend or a total of 6 weekend shifts per 6-week scheduleHoliday coverage required for at least one holiday during the contractFloating within skillset is requiredNo ventilator patients on this unitMay work without CNA supportRole includes direct care for high acuity pulmonary and GI patientsCandidates may be required to work without assistant staff such as CNAsFirst-time travelers are welcome to applyAll requests for block scheduling or RTO must be included with application; no Christmas RTO can be accommodatedMust provide two professional references for considerationMust be willing to float to appropriate units as clinically indicatedAdheres to hospital holiday scheduling policiesLocal candidates are acceptedRequirements
Active RN license in VA or Compact state is required; pending single-state licenses accepted only from non-compact statesCertifications required : ACLS, BLS, and NIHSSMinimum experience in PCU, IMC, or stepdown unit is requiredProficiency in cardiac monitoring, emergency response, dysrhythmia interpretation / managementExperience with IV therapy, phlebotomy, blood product administration, and central / peripheral line careSkilled in medication administration including cardiac drips (no titration) and non-invasive respiratory supportEpic charting experience requiredMust be able to participate in rapid response / code teams and use isolation precautionsBenefits
