Job title : Edifecs Software Architect
Location : Atlanta, GA (100% Remote)
Edifecs Software Architect for one of the leading healthcare providers in US.
The candidate must have expertise in EDIFECS Smart Trading Cloud, Edifecs Application Manager and related technologies.
This role involves leading the design, development, and implementation of healthcare EDI solutions using the Edifecs platform.
The candidate will play a critical role in defining the overall architecture, integrating with enterprise systems, ensuring compliance with healthcare standards, and guiding teams through end-to-end solution delivery.
The candidate must possess excellent communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively with domain and technical experts in the organization.
Primary duties may include, but are not limited to :
Lead the architectural design and solution strategy for Edifecs-based healthcare EDI implementations.
SNIP Level Edit customization and configuration.
Define integration patterns for X12 transactions (837, 835, 270 / 271, 276 / 277, 278, etc.), HIPAA compliance, and payer / provider workflows.
Partner with business, product, and technical teams to translate requirements into scalable EDI solutions.
Provide technical leadership on Edifecs solutions.
API Gateway setup.
Oversee mapping, validation, error handling, and trading partner onboarding.
Ensure solutions align with enterprise integration strategy (e.g., APIs, ESB, data lakes, cloud platforms).
Drive performance tuning, security, and compliance in EDI transactions.
Collaborate with QA to define test strategy for EDI workflows.
Provide mentorship and guidance to developers and analysts on Edifecs best practices.
Support migration initiatives and manage transition with minimal disruption.
Required Skills & Experience :
10+ years of IT experience with at least 5+ years in Edifecs Smart trading platform and healthcare EDI.
Proven expertise in Edifecs platform components (TM, XEngine, SpecBuilder, TPM, etc.).
Strong experience with HIPAA X12 transactions (837, 835, 270 / 271, 276 / 277, 278, etc.).
Deep understanding of healthcare payer / provider workflows, Medicaid / Medicare, and clearinghouses.
Hands-on experience in EDI mapping, transformation, and integration with enterprise systems.
Knowledge of databases (SQL / Oracle), middleware, API integration, and cloud platforms (AWS / Azure / GCP preferred).
Strong problem-solving and architectural design skills.
Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
Preferred Qualifications :
Prior experience in Edifecs migration.
Exposure to Snowflake, Facets, Epic, or other core healthcare systems.
Experience with Agile / Scrum delivery models.
Certifications in Edifecs or healthcare IT standards.
