FIREFIGHTER / EMT salary is $53,498.35 annually, which includes F.L.S.A. Additional monetary incentives may apply. Typically shift work : 24 hours on / 48 hours off. Performs experienced protective service work controlling, extinguishing, and preventing fires and performing Basic Life Support at emergency scenes.

• All applicants must not have been users of tobacco products for at least one (1) year immediately preceding their application for employment as a firefighter with Brevard County Fire Rescue, and shall be required, as an absolute condition of continued employment, to refrain from smoking cigarettes, cigars, pipes, or use of any type of tobacco products of any kind (including smoking cessation products), at all times, whether on or off duty.
• In the event of a hurricane, major storm, natural or man-made disaster that may threaten the area, the employee will be required to perform emergency duties as directed.

REQUIREMENTS : Must possess on thedate of written testing ,a valid CPR card from an approved provider PLUS a valid State of Florida EMT Certification and both must be maintained during the term of employment.Applicants must possess on thedate of written testing a Florida State Fire Fighter Certificate of Compliance or Letter of Completion from the State of Florida Bureau of Fire Standards and Training. Applicants must possess a valid Florida Driver's license and maintain said license during the term of employment.
