Strategic Tax Planning & Transactions
- Assist and / or lead federal and state tax planning projects.
- Research, analyze and document tax issues as they arise and ensure that all working papers are audit ready.
- Regularly seek to identify, drive and implement process improvements within the Tax Department
Compliance & Reporting
Ensure the accurate and timely preparation of the Consolidated U.S. federal and state income tax returns and quarterly estimated payments.Assist quarterly and annual income tax provision, forecasting, and budgeting for inbound and outbound operations.Utilize OneStream for financial data analysis and reporting.Research & Documentation
Conduct in-depth research and analysis on federal & state tax issues.Prepare technical memos and maintain audit-ready documentation.Assist in responding to and resolving inquiries by federal, state, and local tax authorities.Leadership & Collaboration
Mentor and develop tax team members; foster a culture of continuous learning and excellence.Collaborate with global Tax, Legal, Treasury, and Finance teams to align strategies and share best practices.Communicate complex tax matters clearly to senior tax leadership.Process Improvement
Identify and implement best practice process enhancements, including AI automation and emerging technologies.Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA or Master's in Tax is a plus.812 years of federal & state tax experience, ideally in a corporate or Big Four environment.Solid understanding of U.S. tax laws and regulations.Familiar with OneSource Income Tax and Microsoft Office Suite (Power BI & OneStream a plus).Excellent analytical, communication, and leadership skills.Experience managing projects and mentoring tax teams.Technical Expertise
Solid knowledge of U.S. tax rules, including : BEAT, S174, CAMT, 163(j) Limitation Rules, Consolidated Tax Returns.Proficient with ASC 740, FIN 48, APB 23, and US GAAP.Good understanding of State & Local TaxationFamiliarity with international taxation is a plus.Management Responsibilities
Supervise and develop junior team members in accordance with company policies and the Magna Employee's Charter.Responsibilities include hiring, training, performance management, and conflict resolution.Work Environment & Travel
