Job description

Transform Lives Through Communication in the Heart of North Carolina - Become a Speech Language Pathologist with Us!

Overview

Imagine a career that not only champions communication but also breathes life into purpose - quite literally. As a Speech Language Pathologist located in one of North Carolina's most thriving communities, your mission extends beyond treating communication and swallowing disorders. Your work will unlock a world of potential, restore self-assurance, and forge connections - aiding everyone from toddlers learning their first utterances to seniors regaining their independence in daily life.

This unique position allows you to impact various individuals throughout different stages of life in an environment that seamlessly merges outpatient therapy with occasional inpatient responsibilities. Whether your passion lies within pediatric language acquisition, adult neurogenic communication disorders, or cognitive-linguistic rehabilitation for the elderly, you'll find both professional satisfaction and a flexible approach here.

The Role

  • Conduct thorough evaluations of patients spanning pediatric, adult, and senior demographics through a combination of standardized methods and observational techniques.
  • Create tailored treatment strategies that address both immediate and long-range communication, cognitive, or swallowing objectives.
  • Deliver individualized speech therapy interventions targeting communication, language, fluency, voice, and swallowing challenges.
  • Collaborate effectively with physical therapists, occupational therapists, nursing staff, physicians, caregivers, and families to develop comprehensive care strategies.
  • Provide educational resources for patients and families to aid in progress beyond therapy sessions.
  • Engage in occasional inpatient assessments and interventions for speech therapy, ensuring seamless continuity of care.
  • Ensure documentation is precise and timely, following all relevant state, federal, and organizational guidelines.
  • Keep abreast of developments in the field by participating in continuing education and engaging with peers.

Credentials

  • Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited institution.
  • Completion of a supervised Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) is required if not yet ASHA-certified.
  • Required Certifications

  • Current state licensure as a Speech Language Pathologist .
  • Preferably hold the Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) from ASHA.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required within the first month of hiring.
  • Key Skills

  • Expertise in evidence-based treatment methodologies for all age groups, with a deep understanding of both developmental and acquired speech, language, and swallowing disorders.
  • Outstanding interpersonal communication skills to engage with patients, families, and interdisciplinary teams.
  • Flexibility in adapting treatment approaches to cater to diverse cultural and linguistic backgrounds.
  • Strong clinical judgement and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Proficiency with electronic health records and documentation protocols.
  • Perks of the Position

  • A competitive salary that reflects your experience.
  • Flexible working hours, ensuring a harmonious work-life balance along with a diverse caseload.
  • Possibilities to specialize in pediatrics, adult neuro rehabilitation, or geriatrics.
  • Generous paid time off (PTO) and holiday compensation.
  • Comprehensive medical, dental, vision, and life insurance plans.
  • Support for continuing education and professional growth.
  • A collaborative, team-centric culture focused on providing exceptional care and continuous learning.
  • A Journey of Growth Awaits - Join Us!

In this role, you're not just delivering speech therapy - you are joining a community-driven initiative to restore voices, strengthen connections, and create joyful moments through the essential human experience of understanding and being understood.

Surround yourself with colleagues who feel like family in a setting that values teamwork over competition. Each patient is on their own journey, and we are dedicated to helping you guide them in telling their stories.
