Nurse Practitioner / Physician Assistant - Psychiatry Inpatient / Emergency Department Consults

Work Schedule :

100% FTE, Monday- Friday typically between the hours of 8 : 00 am - 5 : 00 pm. No weekends, holidays, or call.

As an Advanced Practice Provider, you'll play an integral role in our inpatient care teams by providing high-quality, cost-effective care to patients.

We are seeking a Nurse Practitioner / Physician Assistant to :

• Conduct psychiatric assessments of patients with acute and / or chronic mental illness in inpatient and Emergency Department (ED) settings. This includes the assessment of the patient's psychosocial, cognitive, developmental, and medical status.
• Develop recommendations for treatment and communicate with the primary treatment team.
• Work collaboratively with the ED and inpatient medical / surgical teams, ED Mental Health Clinicians, and sub-specialties including health psychology, AODA, and geriatrics.
• Provide Telepsychiatry consultation to East Madison Hospital Emergency and Medical-Surgical Units.
• See patients and family members as needed for follow-up psychiatric care that can include medication management, non-pharmacological treatment planning for management of behaviors, bedside supportive therapy, collateral information gathering, team treatment planning meetings, management of acute agitation, and cognitive assessments

Education : Minimum -

If Nurse Practitioner : Master's or Doctorate's degree from accredited Nursing Program.

If Physician Assistant : Bachelor's or Master's degree from accredited PA Program.

Licenses and Certifications :

Minimum - State of Wisconsin NP or PA licensure
