This 36-day assignment requires coverage for night call and 24-hour shifts, starting from 12 / 23 / 2025. The ideal candidate will be comfortable handling emergency cases, ECMO, and tamponade procedures. This role offers flexibility with off-site call options and the support of APPs for floor call. The position utilizes Cerner EMR and may have potential for extension. Job Details : Location : Pennsylvania Facility Type : Hospital (Trauma) Start Date : 12 / 23 / 2025 LOA : 36 days (with potential for extension) Provider Type Needed : Physician - Surgery - Cardiothoracic Schedule : Night Call (5p-8a) and 24-hour Call (8a-8a) Responsibilities and Duties :
- Provide night call coverage and 24-hour call shifts as scheduled
- Handle emergency cardiothoracic surgical cases
- Manage ECMO and tamponade procedures
- Collaborate with APPs who handle floor call
- Utilize Cerner EMR system for patient documentation
- Be available for key dates, including : December 23-26, 2025; January 28 to February 1, 2026; May 1 to May 5, 2026; June 9 to June 14, 2026
- Adapt to the hospital's protocols and procedures
- Maintain clear communication with the healthcare team Additional Information :

- Call can be taken off-site from a hotel
- The physician will be the sole provider on call for cardiothoracic surgery
- Elective cases will be managed by employed attendings
- Cases may be transferred to Pittsburgh hospital when appropriate
