Materials Coordinator

Pay : $23.75 / hr

Duration : 6 month contract

Location : Roanoke, VA - onsite

Overview :

This role works closely with operations leadership and production teams to improve efficiency, reduce open order age, minimize past dues, and decrease customer escalations.

Key Responsibilities :

• Serve as the point of contact between planning and customer service teams for assigned product lines
• Manage escalations to minimize interruptions
• Process cancellations and provide order status updates
• Oversee order management, identifying efficiencies in assembling similar products in batches
• Prioritize assembly workflows and production benches
• Communicate material-related issues to planning teams, including :
• Missing or defective materials
• Quality concerns
• Inventory discrepancies and cycle count adjustments
• Bill of Materials (BOM) issues; collaborate with planners and engineering to resolve backflushing or configuration errors
• Participate in continuous improvement meetings (Gemba) and track metrics related to open orders and production performance
