Clinical Nurse II - Renal Transplant

Salary Range : $83,200.00 - $93,184.00

Join our dedicated team at Albany Medical Center as a Clinical Nurse II, where you will manage the care of patients with various renal transplant needs. Your primary focus will be on pre- and postoperative surgical patients, including those undergoing renal transplants, simultaneous pancreas / kidney (SPK) transplants, and other related procedures. You will also care for patients with End Stage Renal Disease requiring renal replacement therapy, peritoneal dialysis, and telemetry monitoring.

In our fast-paced environment, you will provide essential education on self-care measures necessary for maintaining both patient health and the health of transplanted grafts. This unit also accommodates general medicine and surgical patients, giving you a well-rounded experience in patient care.

The variety of clinical scenarios you will encounter ensures that no two days are the same. You will be responsible for treating patients with common diagnoses, including but not limited to :

• Renal Transplant
• Complications of Renal Transplant
• Parathyroidectomy
• Simultaneous Renal / Pancreas Transplant
• Live Donor Nephrectomy
• Hemodialysis Access

Treatment modalities include IV therapy, antibiotic therapy, blood and blood products transfusion, sterile dressing changes, tube feeding, managing surgical drains, and administering immunosuppressive therapy for transplant recipients.
