American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Med / Surg and Telemetry Float position requiring Epic and basic arrhythmia experience with variable day and evening shifts.
\n \n Responsibilities\n
Work in medical / surgical and telemetry units in a hospital settingFloat across multiple Med / Surg specialty units including cardiac, spine, and neuro, as well as IMC unitsVariable 8 and 12-hour day and evening shifts, primarily 11 : 00-23 : 00 or 15 : 00-23 : 00, with some 07 : 00-19 : 00 shiftsEvery other weekend rotation is requiredTravelers are the first to float and may be assigned to different locations or units as neededEpic EMR is used and experience is requiredResponsibilities include floating to multiple units and adapting to diverse patient populations and acuity levelsRequired to demonstrate critical thinking and escalation skills for complications and complex patient needsWork with multidisciplinary teams and delegate tasks as appropriateOpportunities to serve as a preceptor and participate in quality improvement initiativesSuccessful completion of facility orientation is required and typically lasts about one weekStrict pass / fail testing required for telemetry competency, including identification of lethal rhythmsHoliday coverage may be required based on unit needsFirst-time travelers may be accepted in some units\n \n Requirements\n
Active WI RN license or Compact RN license in hand at time of considerationCurrent BLS certification through the American Heart Association is requiredMinimum of two years acute care experience within the last three years in Med / Surg specialtyExperience in cardiac, spine, and neuro Med / Surg units requiredBasic arrhythmia and telemetry experience requiredMust pass a telemetry exam prior to starting the assignment with strict passing criteriaEpic experience required, preferably within the last 12 monthsPermanent residence must be at least 50 miles from the facilityLocals are not accepted\n Benefits\n
