Job Role : Senior Practice Technical Specialist

Location : San Antonio TX

Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled IBM App Connect Enterprise ACE and IBM MQ System Administrator to join our IT infrastructure team.
The ideal candidate will be responsible for installing, configuring, administering, and maintaining IBM Integration Bus IIBACE and IBM MQ environments across multiple platforms.
This role ensures high availability, performance, and security of integration systems that connect enterprise applications and services.

Key Responsibilities

Installation Configuration

Install, configure, and maintain IBM ACE formerly IIB and IBM MQ on Windows, Linux, or UNIX environments.

Configure message flows, integration nodes, queues, queue managers, channels, and topics.

Set up high availability (HA) and disaster recovery (DR) environments.

Administration Support

Manage day to day operations, performance tuning, and troubleshooting of IBM ACEMQ environments.

Implement and maintain monitoring solutions using tools like IBM MQ Explorer, ACE Toolkit, or third party systems.

Apply patches, fix packs, and perform version upgrades.

Monitor message queues, error logs, and transaction integrity.

Security Compliance

Implement SSLTLS certificates for secure communication.

Define user roles, security groups, and access controls for MQ and ACE.

Ensure compliance with IT security policies and audit requirements.

Automation & Scripting

Develop and maintain shell scripts or PowerShell scripts for automation of administrative tasks.

Integrate IBM ACE / MQ with CI / CD pipelines where applicable.

Incident & Change Management

Provide 24x7 production support on a rotational basis.

Participate in change, incident, and problem management processes.

Collaborate with development, middleware, and network teams for issue resolution.

Required Skills & Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field.

3 8 years of experience in administering IBM MQ and IBM ACE / IIB environments.

Strong understanding of message queuing concepts, integration patterns, and SOA architectures.

Proficiency in UNIX / Linux shell scripting and basic networking concepts.

Hands-on experience with :

Queue manager clustering and HA

MQ security (SSL, authentication, and authorization)

ACE node and execution group administration

Knowledge of DevOps, Jenkins, or Ansible is a plus.

Excellent troubleshooting and performance optimization skills
