Responsibilities include but are not limited to :
Prepare and analyze samples to quantitatively measure chemical and physical properties in a variety of matrices : air, dust, food, soil, solid, and / or water
Familiarity with EPA, NIOSH, OSHA, ASTM, USP, and / or AOAC methodologies
Understanding of ISO 17025 and NELAC accreditation program requirements
Follow standard operating procedures, quality control procedures, and data validation established for each analytical method
Operate, maintain, and troubleshoot analytical equipment and instruments
Perform basic chemistry tasks such as pipetting, performance of volumetric measurements and the utilization of analytical balances
Perform calculations and conversions, and compile the data obtained
Be comfortable in a laboratory setting involving the use laboratory grade acids, solvents and other reagents that require care in use and when handling
