Job Responsibilities
Diagnose and treat patients with electrical abnormalities of the heart, such as arrhythmias and atrial fibrillation.Perform electrophysiology studies (EPS), catheter ablations and device implantations like pacemakers and defibrillators.Manage patients with implantable cardiac devices, including routine follow-ups and troubleshooting device malfunctions.Work closely with cardiologists, cardiac surgeons and other members of the healthcare team to optimize patient care.Provide emergency care for patients experiencing life-threatening arrhythmias.Maintain accurate and thorough medical records.Skills
Comprehensive understanding of cardiac electrophysiology and related procedures.Expertise in performing complex procedures, such as radiofrequency ablation and device implantation.Ability to make quick, informed decisions, particularly in emergency cases.Strong written and verbal communication skills.Flexibility to adapt to new work environments and different medical teams.Minimum Education Requirements
Doctor of Medicine (MD) degree or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) degree from an accredited medical school.Residency training program in internal medicine accredited by the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME) or the American Osteopathic Association (AOA).Completion of a fellowship in cardiology, with a subspecialty fellowship in clinical cardiac electrophysiology.License & Certifications
Board certification in cardiovascular disease with additional certification in clinical cardiac electrophysiology by the American Board of Internal Medicine (ABIM).Active and unrestricted medical license in Ohio .Experience
