Buyer- Pharmacy (FT- 1.0 FTE, Day Shift)

Buyer Position

Position Summary : The Buyer is responsible for purchasing, receiving, and maintaining appropriate stock levels for Bozeman Health, while monitoring usage and managing cost. They are in charge of conducting inventory and requesting new products based on organizational needs.

Minimum Qualifications : Required + High School Diploma or Equivalent + Montana Licensure as a Technician in Training within 30 days of hire if not a Certified Pharmacy Technician. Required to obtain National Pharmacy Technician Certification within one year of Technician in Training licensure. Preferred + Certified Pharmacy Technician and / or pharmacy purchasing experience.

Essential Job Functions

• Utilize various reports to optimize inventory management, including automated dispensing cabinet data
• Responsible for pharmaceutical and supply procurement including placing and receiving orders, unpacking orders, verifying contents, restocking shelves, and returns
• Responsible for periodic verification of narcotic vault inventory
• Ensures accurate prices on invoices according to contracts and agreements
• Works with System Pharmacy Manager and Operations Supervisor to optimize and maintain vendor contracts and agreements
• Controls the preparation and taking of physical inventory annually and outdated merchandise returns
• Review and validates responsibility report expense detail as requested by System Pharmacy Manager or Operations Supervisor

Schedule Requirements

This role requires regular and sustained attendance. The position may necessitate working beyond a standard 40-hour workweek, including weekends and after-hours shifts. On-call work may be required to respond promptly to organizational, patient, or employee needs.
