Job Description

We're Tend — Dental Done Differently.

Tend was founded to make going to the dentist something people actually look forward to. We blend thoughtfully designed studios, top-tier clinical care, advanced technology, and a hospitality-driven mindset to create a dental experience that's human, personalized, and exceptional from start to finish.

Since launching in 2019, we've delivered care to over 100,000 patients across New York, Washington DC, Boston, Atlanta, and Nashville. With thousands of five-star reviews and over 650 passionate team members, Tend is one of the fastest-growing and highest-rated dental brands in the country — and we're just getting started.

Whether you're delivering care in our studios or supporting our growth behind the scenes, every role at Tend contributes to reimagining the future of dental health — for patients and for the people who care for them.

We're growing fast — and we're looking for values-driven, mission-aligned talent to grow with us.

At Tend, we're reimagining what dentistry can be. As an Assistant Studio Manager, you'll support the Studio Manager in running day-to-day operations while keeping our focus on delivering "Dental Done Differently." This role blends hospitality, operational excellence, and team leadership to ensure both our guests and our studio team members feel cared for every step of the way.

What You'll Do

  • Support the Studio Manager in daily operations, including scheduling, inventory, and opening / closing routines.
  • Manage front desk operations and lead the front desk team through interviewing, training, coaching, and performance feedback.
  • Maintain a strong understanding of insurance, schedule management, and treatment planning to support studio performance.
  • Deliver financial presentations and track results to help meet revenue goals.
  • Partner with the Studio Manager and broader teams (member experience, revenue cycle) to support a seamless guest journey.
  • Organize and lead specialty treatment days (orthodontics and oral surgery).
  • Oversee ordering of supplies, including Amazon shipments, and manage studio inventory.
  • Optimize provider scheduling to balance team efficiency and guest needs.
  • Drive patient (member) retention through outreach and follow-ups for unscheduled treatment.
  • Provide warm, consistent hospitality for every guest — whether in-studio, by phone, or by email.
  • Collaborate with the entire clinical and non-clinical team to ensure high-quality guest and team experiences.
  • Take initiative to identify and complete tasks without direct supervision.

Who You Are

At Tend, our values guide everything we do — how we care for our guests, how we work together, and how we grow as a team.

Tend Values

  • Tend to Others : You create an environment where patients and teammates feel cared for, and you help the team succeed by driving meaningful results.
  • Be Brave Enough to Lead : You're not afraid to make decisions or take action when it's needed.
  • Savor the Ride : You bring positivity that keeps the team engaged and guests smiling.
  • Embrace Our Differences : You value and respect people from all backgrounds and perspectives.
  • Rooted in Growth : You seek feedback, stay curious, and grow from every experience.
  • Role-Based Competencies

  • Grow Your Team : You coach, train, and support others so they can succeed.
  • Stay Organized : You plan and prioritize to keep the studio running smoothly.
  • Think Ahead : You see the bigger picture and adjust priorities to keep the studio on track.
  • What You Have

  • 2+ years of experience in a healthcare, hospitality, or service management role (dental experience strongly preferred).
  • Experience leading or coaching a team.
  • Strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication skills across phone, email, and in-person interactions.
  • Comfort with scheduling systems, insurance processes, and treatment planning (or willingness to learn quickly).
  • A proactive approach — you anticipate needs and take initiative.
  • A passion for delivering outstanding hospitality and patient experiences.
  • Physical Requirements

This position requires the ability to perform the essential job duties listed, with or without reasonable accommodation :

  • Ability to sit, stand, and move around the studio for extended periods while supporting front desk operations and studio needs.
  • Manual dexterity and proficiency with office technology, including computer systems, phones, and point-of-sale tools.
  • Adequate vision (with or without correction) to review schedules, financial presentations, reports, and other documentation.
  • Ability to bend, reach, and move throughout the studio to assist with daily operations such as tidying, organizing, and preparing the space.
  • Occasional lifting or movement of supplies, packages, and equipment up to 25 pounds.
  • Ability to communicate clearly and compassionately with guests, team members, and cross-functional partners both in person and through technology.
  • Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions of the role.

    What We Offer

We believe taking care of people starts with taking care of our own. Here's how we've got you covered at Tend :

  • 🩺 Health Comes First – Medical, dental, and vision insurance — plus our own Dental Wellness Program
  • 🌴 Time to Recharge - Enjoy generous Paid Time Off (PTO) and company holidays — because rest is productive.
  • 💰 Plan for the Future – 401(k) with company match
  • 💡 Support, When You Need It – Life & AD&D insurance, EAP, legal support, and more
  • 🛍️ Smart Spending Options – FSAs, HSAs, and pre-tax transit benefits
  • 💸 Bonus Eligible - This role includes bonus potential based on both studio performance and your individual impact.
  • #LI-Onsite

    Pay Range

    $50,000—$58,250 USD

    The Tend Difference

The highest standard of care, anywhere.

At Tend, you'll work alongside esteemed clinical leaders and experience-obsessed colleagues to deliver care that's not only top-tier — it's unforgettable. With access to advanced technology and thoughtfully designed studios, you'll help create dental experiences that patients actually look forward to. Our hospitality-driven approach makes every visit feel personal, warm, and empowering.

A top-tier clinical team who puts patients first.

We value science over sales and lead with empathy, transparency, and integrity. There are no production quotas here — just a shared commitment to doing what's right for our patients. We foster a collaborative, inclusive culture where team members go the extra mile for each other and for every patient who walks through our doors.

Innovate Dentistry. Tend to Others. Grow Together.

Tend is redefining what it means to grow a career in dentistry. We offer a modern, patient-first environment backed by cutting-edge tools and systems, industry-leading compensation and benefits, and robust opportunities for continuing education and professional development. Whether you're clinical or corporate, you'll be part of something meaningful — and surrounded by people who care.
