Care of sepsis, arrhythmias, med / surg critical care patients

Description :

This position is for a travel registered nurse in the intensive care unit.

The unit is equipped with 21 beds and staffed by 45 personnel.

During the day shift, there is 1 charge nurse with no patient assignment along with 6-8 nurses.

Night shifts maintain the same structure.

Patient ratios are typically 2 : 1 in the ICU, with adjustments for step-down and high acuity patients.

Commonly used equipment includes Hospira IV pumps and Meditech EMR.

Ideal candidates should be team-oriented with a good sense of humor.

The unit performs procedures such as intubation and central line insertion, along with bronchoscopy and endoscopy.

Candidates with cardiac experience and CRRT skills will be prioritized.

Staff are required to work every third weekend and one major holiday.

Self-scheduling and floating to telemetry and other units are part of the role.

This is a small community hospital where patients mostly receive elective care.

The facility is Magnet designated and has intensivist coverage in the ICU 24 / 7.
