About The Position

📌 Job Description

A reputable healthcare facility in Waterloo, Iowa is looking to add 1–2 Locum Tenens Anesthesiologists to their team starting January or February 2026 . Full-time coverage is ideal, but candidates with at least 2 weeks / month availability are welcome to apply. This is a high-volume OR setting with a collaborative and supportive team.

🎯 Job Responsibilities

Provide anesthesia care and monitoring before and during surgeries

Perform general anesthesia, including OB cases (with TOLAC ) and light pediatric cases (mainly tonsils and adenoids )

Take part in a rotating call schedule , including weekends and night call

Perform conscious sedation

Collaborate with a team of 6 physicians and 2 CRNAs

Some CRNA supervision required

🎓 Qualifications

Board Certified in Anesthesiology – Required (BE not accepted)

Active Iowa license or IMLC with valid Letter of Qualification – Required

ACLS Certification – Required (can be obtained during credentialing)

COVID-19 Vaccination – Required

Clean malpractice and background – Required (No settled or pending cases)

Availability for at least 2 weeks / month – Required

Willing to take call and weekend coverage – Required

⏰ Working Hours

Start Date : January or February 2026

Schedule : Monday to Friday, 6 : 30 AM – 4 : 30 PM

Night Call : Every 3–4 days

Weekends : Call only (1st, 2nd, and 3rd call rotation; 1st call gets called in ~75% of the time)

No clinic responsibilities

💡 Skills & Environment

Comfortable with OB anesthesia including TOLAC

Light pediatric experience (e.g., tonsils, adenoids)

Experience with conscious sedation

Familiarity with EPIC EMR (Go-live : May 2025)

Able to function in a high-volume setting – 13 ORs , 30–50 cases / day department-wide

💵 Compensation & Travel

Daily Pay Rate : $4500 / day
