Unit Overview :
Join our 24-bed Neurosurgical Unit , where you will care for a diverse patient population, including :
Post-operative craniotomies for bleed evacuation, AVMs, and tumor resections.Cervical, thoracic, and lumbar spine surgeries.Hemorrhagic and ischemic stroke patients as part of our Comprehensive Stroke Program .High volume of cervical and spinal surgery patients, along with medical overflow cases .As part of the Aurora Neuroscience Innovation Institute (ANII) , our unit is at the forefront of neurosurgical techniques and care.

Deliver and coordinate comprehensive, evidence-based patient care using the nursing process.Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure safe, therapeutic, and compassionate care.Apply clinical judgment, skilled communication, and critical thinking to support optimal outcomes.Contribute to a positive patient experience across the continuum of care.Why Join Us?

Utilize the nursing process to assess patient needs, plan, implement, and evaluate care in collaboration with patients and families.Recognize significant changes in patient conditions, providing ongoing assessments and necessary interventions.Implement strategies that reduce patient risk and enhance safety, fostering a culture of learning.Coordinate the discharge plan employing an interdisciplinary approach.Evaluate patient, team, and unit outcomes and participate in shared governance initiatives.Demonstrate effective communication and conflict resolution skills, promoting collaboration.Participate in quality / process improvement initiatives for enhanced patient care.Engage in professional development activities and mentorship opportunities.Provide age-appropriate care tailored to individual patient needs, adhering to departmental standards.Licensure, Registration, and / or Certification Required :
Registered Nurse license issued by the state of practice.Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers certification from the American Heart Association (AHA).Education Required :
Completion of an accredited or approved Nursing program.Experience Required :
Typically requires 1 year of clinical nursing experience.Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Required :
