Who We Are :

Since 1906, New Balance has empowered people through sport and craftsmanship to create positive change in communities around the world. We innovate fearlessly, guided by our core values and driven by the belief that conventions were meant to be challenged. We foster a culture in which every associate feels welcomed and respected, where leaders and creatives are inspired to shape the world of tomorrow by taking bold action today.

JOB MISSION :

As the Senior Analyst, Global Merchandising Planning and Operations, you will support the global merchandising teams in building and reporting against the financial plans and business performance of New Balance's footwear, apparel, and accessories product globally. This role will be instrumental in providing cross-functional senior leadership and regional merchants a collective view across our regions to how we are positioned in the marketplace today, informing how we appropriately invest for future seasons. Through your expertise in data visualization, strategic analysis, and project management, you will be a key player in advancing the future of our global merchandise planning organization here at New Balance, helping us correctly manage and fuel the business.

MAJOR ACCOUNTABILITIES :

  • Lead the design and implementation of additional Global Merchandising KPI dashboards in Power BI that fuel the way we assess and manage the business, ensuring accurate, up-to-date data visualization and reporting
  • Perform quantitative analysis on ad-hoc business asks to support leadership decision-making and drive continued investment in data and analytics
  • Partner cross-functionally with Data Engineering, IT, Data Science, and Consumer Insights to advance global data source connections and the detail to which we can assess business performance
  • Collaborate across our regions with our merchandising teams and business planners to share reporting capability improvements and analysis, align on learnings and actions being taken, and plan the business at a granular level harmoniously

REQUIREMENTS FOR SUCCESS :

  • Bachelor's degree (or equivalent work experience)
  • 4+ years of professional experience working in merchandise planning, business planning, sales, inventory allocation, or consumer insights & analytics - either in industry or related
  • Critical and strategic thinker with strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Highly comfortable aggregating, analyzing and synthesizing disparate sources of information into compelling, data-driven stories
  • Expertise with front-end development of performance dashboards (Power BI or Tableau), with an understanding of back-end development program languages (SQL, R, Python)
  • Proficient PC skills, including MS Office Suite and advanced Excel skills
  • Foundational financial and retail math acumen a plus
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a cross-functional team
  • Strong self-starter who can identify and act on business opportunities, figuring out how to solution given the constrained information they might have
  • A collaborative working style that brings people along to ideate, validate, and socialize
  • Effective communicator, both verbally and written
  • Passion for the athletic footwear and apparel industry, and the New Balance brand
  • Boston, MA Headquarters - (NB) Only Pay Range : $79,515.00 - $102,600.00 - $125,685.00 Annual (actual base pay varying based upon, but not limited to, relevant experience, time in role, internal equity, geographic location, and more.)
